Suggested Itineraries
Day One
Enjoy your first night on the town by taking in the races at Outlaw Motor Speedway. A fun time for the whole family, enjoy watching the cars race around the track as well as the excellent food from the concession stand.
Day Two
Saturday morning you and your family will enjoy a home-style breakfast at Speedway Grille. Start your day off right with their wonderful hash browns, omelets, and biscuits and gravy.
After a great breakfast you are ready for an underwater adventure at the USS Batfish and War Memorial Park. This museum features a variety of military history along with a real WWII submarine. Climb down inside and take a look at the living quarters and working conditions of some of the bravest naval members in history.
Now it’s time to head to the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and Museum to check out the incredible stars that Oklahoma has produced in all areas of the music industry. Learn about Vince Gill, Hinder, Carrie Underwood, Color Me Badd, and of course Merle Haggard.

Walk across the street and learn how Muskogee and the Three Rivers Area was founded. The Three Rivers Museum offers a unique view into the history of Muskogee and the people who have lived here. Learn about Muskogee’s most famous citizen Alice Robertson or the first Governor of Oklahoma, Charles Haskell. Tours are available.
For a great lunch, head over to the Arrowhead Mall and experience the unique dining of The Flaire Grill and Pub. A great place for couples or families, the Flaire offers a unique twist on traditional food. Check out their Black and Bleu burger or enjoy their wonderful Bruschetta.
After lunch, it’s time to shop! The Market located in Downtown on Denison is a great place to look for those unique, individualized gifts. It offers a wide variety of collectibles that would make the perfect gift for anyone on your list. Then for some truly great bargains, visit the Main Street Shopping District. These stores offer everything from antiques to resale bargains. Enjoy visiting each one and looking at all the varied merchandise.
After your shopping experiences, make a quick trip through the Five Civilized Tribes Museum and Art Gallery. Hear the story of the Trail of Tears and see beautiful art done by Native American artists. In April, enjoy the Art Under the Oaks festival.
For dinner, sample the cuisine at Miss Addie’s or Johnny V’s. Miss Addie’s offers gourmet cooked foods in a very hospitable, romantic atmosphere. Johnny V’s menu includes incredible Italian dishes along with phenomenal pizza. Both provide a full bar and wine list.
Day Three
For a great breakfast, visit IHOP in Muskogee for one of their specialties like Stuffed French Toast.
After breakfast, take a stroll through Honor Heights Park. Home to the Azalea Festival in April and the Garden of Lights in December, this park is a 150-acre gem tucked into one of the oldest neighborhoods in Muskogee. Walk along the stream, climb up to the waterfall, or spend your time in the arboretum.
After walking through the park, load up in the car and have a scavenger hunt for the 28 Muskogee Rhythms guitars. These 8-foot guitars were painted by local artists and are scattered around town. For a hint there is a map available.
After your drive, enjoy lunch at Runt’s Barbeque. Their barbeque, catfish and prime rib are spectacular. The atmosphere is rustic but the staff is warm and friendly.
Finally, before you head out of town, stop by Viva’s in Arrowhead Mall to pick up your Okie From Muskogee souvenirs. Viva’s carries Okie From Muskogee T-Shirts, key chains, hats, shot glasses, and all other kinds of products. Before you load up in the car, go two doors down in the mall and grab a coffee or Italian Ice from The Daily Grind to take enjoy in the car.
