Welcome to MUSKOGEE

Arts and Entertainment

A visit to Muskogee wouldn’t be complete without a little rockin’ country. Muskogee is the home to the Oklahoma Music Hall of fame, paying tribute to the contributions of the many Oklahomans who have left their mark on the music industry. View some great memorabilia, enjoy the annual concert or take in a show at one of Muskogee’s fabulous theaters, hosting a variety of productions throughout the year.

Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame

The world of music wouldn’t be the same without the influences and contributions of many great Oklahomans. The Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame and Museum is dedicated to recognizing the special impact many Oklahoma artists have had in music. Inductees include Toby Keith, Vince Gill, Patti Page, and of course, Merle Haggard, who made Muskogee famous with his hit “Okie from Muskogee”.  At the Museum, you can see memorabilia donated by past inductees and the Hall of Fame presents an annual induction concert at the Civic Center each year.

The Roxy Theater

The center of downtown Muskogee’s cultural activities is The Roxy Theater. The theater opened in 1948 as a movie theater and still holds the ambiance and charm of a post-WWII era movie theater. Beautiful architecture, art deco glass and tile, full restored original seats and neon signs make the theater as much of a destination as the shows inside. The Roxy holds theater-style live productions, musicals and family style movies.

Location: 220 W Okmulgee, Muskogee

The season runs from June through July and the theater produces between three and seven plays per year.  An entirely volunteer based, nonprofit community theater, The Little Theater celebrates creativity and the art of theater in each show they produce. Tickets are just $12 for adults, $7 for students.
