golf course reviews have appeared in PGA publications and he is

In this
seminar, participants will be motivated to seek out and develop
business communication skills by facing the fact that the successful
business environment demands it. Topics Discussed include “You
are Here!” what research has determined about the lack of
business communication skills and how industry is reacting; “It
is not luck!”, as any other skill, I can learn to be an
effective business communicator; “It takes practice!”,
some of the skills required by business entities today are not
naturally acquired; and “It takes time!”, incorporate
this skill-development into your regular routine. Class participation
will include: “Where do I need to be?”, a brief assessment
of your skills, and only you will know what you need to change;
“What will get me there?”, real opportunities to increase
business communication skills are available in your home, business,
and community; and “Will you do it?”, consider this
brief overview of the logical results of delay—pay scale
and job acquisition.
Kenneth
Jones, Jr. is an Instructor of Information Systems and
Marketing of IT at Northeastern State University. His areas of
interest include Integrated Systems, Marketing of High Tech Products
and Services, Pre/Post Assessment, Online Curriculum Development
(including Activity-Based Learning online), Persuasive Technology,
Remote Employment Environments, and Information Systems Impact
on Globalization. Mr. Jones is currently pursuing his Doctorate
of Business Administration from Anderson University, Falls School
of Business (Anderson, IN). He presented his work on utilizing
campus services in online learning at the 2006 Oklahoma Higher
Education Teaching and Learning Conference (OHETLC), entitled:
“Life Support: Utilizing Campus Services to Enhance Distance
Learning Experiences.” In 2005 he introduced a new online
learning experience which he calls “TABLE—Team Activity-Based
Learning” which he presented at the 2007 OHETLC. He and
a colleague presented research based on longitudinal pre/post
assessment (which he began in 2003) to the Oklahoma Association
of Institutional Research and Planning in 2007 entitled “Development
of Course-specific Student Learning Assessment Instruments for

critical thinking, the major components of critical thinking,

Gilbert
Hall is Chairman of Eastern Workforce Investment Board, and has
served as chairman for five of the past seven years. He has degrees
in Economics and a MBA, and various Training and Development Certifications.
Gilbert is a veteran of the U.S. Navy and has been employed with
O.G. & E. for the past thirty years. His current position
as Senior Training Coordinator provides an understanding of businesses'
need for workforce development and the skills needed to be successful
in the work world. He is a graduate of Leadership Oklahoma Class
XIII. For the past nineteen years, he has been an adjunct instructor
of Economics for Connors State College. He currently serves on
the board of First National Bank, as a trustee for Muskogee Medical
Center Authority, and is a member of Oklahoma Association of Workforce

Elaine
Dodd spent 22 years in law enforcement doing investigative
work for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, retiring in 1995 as
their Director. Her tenure there allowed opportunities for investigating
white collar crimes as a diversion investigator as well as training
for officers and medical professionals. For six years, she coordinated
the community outreach effort for Leadership Oklahoma, helping
to start local leadership groups, facilitating retreats, and teaching
and enhancing skills on a local level. She is now Vice President
for the Fraud Division of the Oklahoma Bankers Association, currently
providing training and investigative assistance for banks statewide
and providing fraud training to thousands of bankers and customers
across the state. She received the OBA Chairman’s Award
in 2005 and was one of the Journal Record Woman of the Year finalists
in 2005. Through this service, OBA has been able to help bank
customers and retailers learn how to protect their businesses,
savings and retirement monies from scammers and their ever-evolving
