Why I Love Muskogee Video Contest

www.muskogeechamber.org/

The Greater Muskogee Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism is announcing the Why I love Muskogee Video Contest in conjunction with the 2011 Bare Bones Film Festival. The festival brings hundreds of filmmakers to town each year with cameras in hand, now they can win a cash prize of $500 for the best film about Muskogee! The Contest will run from April 8th through May 6th, 2011.  Films are to be submitted to YouTube and the winner will be announced by May 27th.  The Muskogee Chamber may use the video in future promotional videos.
The Bare Bones Film Festival has brought international recognition to Muskogee and an awareness of the importance of supporting filmmakers to the Muskogee area.  2010 named one of the "25 Festivals worth the entry fee" by Moviemaker Magazine and in 2009 named one of the "20 best festivals for new and emerging filmmakers."  Bare Bones has long been touted as the "Friendliest Film Festival" by the many filmmakers who return year after year. Filmmakers can shoot video while in Muskogee and edit their masterpieces at home.
The contest is open to the public, not just Bare Bones filmmakers.  You may be a proud Okie from Muskogee, a guest in town, or a boomeranger, someone who has recently moved back to Muskogee.  There are many stories out there; The Muskogee Chamber is looking for videos that portray Muskogee as an attractive, interesting destination.  Filmmakers are encouraged to make a minute and a half, creative, tasteful, and fun video.  Guidelines for entering the contest can be found at www.muskogeechamber.org or www.barebonesfilmfest.com
“This video contest will give us different perspectives of Muskogee in a unique format. This is a project that will help with the community’s self image and a great way to engage a group of very special visitors”, said Treasure McKenzie, Vice President of Tourism and Marketing at the Muskogee Chamber of Commerce and Tourism.
