Welcome to MUSKOGEE
Relish a Muskogee Original
Don’t let its looks fool you. This unpretentious little hot dog stand may not look impressive, but Chet’s has been serving up some of the best hot dogs in Oklahoma for nearly 50 years.
A local teen hangout for several generations, Chet’s has refused to move to a bigger location or to change the recipe for its famous chili dog. Three stools at a tiny counter are about all the seating Chet’s has ever offered, so most folks grab their dogs with maybe a grape slush or old-fashioned root beer and then head to a picnic table at Honor Heights Park or to take in a game at the Love-Hatbox Sports Complex. Both are located near this tiny restaurant with the big taste.
Muskogeeans may move away from their hometown, but a return visit always requires a stop at Chet’s for a hot dog. You’ll understand why when you order one with everything on it. No, make that two. You won’t be able to stop with just one. But don’t forget to grab plenty of napkins. Like all great foods, a Chet’s chili dog is a little messy, but oh, so worth it!
