AGRI-BUSINESS COMMITTEE
Actively involved in supporting local agricultural businesses,
distributing an Agricultural Resource Guide, and serving as
a sounding board for related events such as the Muskogee Farmers’
Market. Also supports the Muskogee Regional Junior Livestock
Show by hosting a Business After Hours in conjunction with the
event.
BAM! BUSINESS AND MARKETING
Provide structured networking events, allowing members to present
information
about their business or organization to small groups.
CHRISTMAS DOWNTOWN
Expand the Chamber’s participation in, and provide resources
for, the holiday retail promotion
of the Central Business District of Muskogee.
DOWNTOWN REVITALIZATION
Serve as a think tank, to discuss and recommend revitalization
strategies for the successful revitalization
of the Central Business District of Muskogee.
LOCAL BUSINESS & INDUSTRY COMMITTEE
Co-Sponsor with Muskogee Development and Indian Capital Technology
Center an annual awards luncheon
to recognize local industry accomplishments.
MAGIC PROMOTIONS COMMITTEE
Sponsor community-wide annual retail promotions including Muskogee’s
Magic Holiday Giveaway,
an Azalea Festival Promotion, and the Fall Festival of Fabulous
Savings.
MEMBER-TO-MEMBER PROMOTIONS
Encourage Chamber members to do business with other members
through a member-to-member discount program.
MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY
Provide a resource directory of the Chamber membership arranged
alphabetically and by category
to encourage member-to-member business.
SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Provide small business and start up information. Coordinate
seminars on topics of interest, some in partnership with the
Muskogee Area Human Resource Association and with the Muskogee
Education Consortium.
SUCCESS EXPO
Plan and implement a business-to-business marketing event designed
to showcase member businesses and organizations,
and provide a forum for employers and employees.
WOMEN’S CONFERENCE
Plan and implement a marketing event and conference program
designed to further develop women’s business skills
and assist women business owners improve their bottom line.
MEMBERSHIP SERVICES
To achieve positive growth of membership through retention,
recruitment and communication while functioning as the
outreach arm of the Chamber. |
AMBASSADORS
Promote new and expanding businesses through special events
including ribbon cuttings, open houses, and ground breaking
ceremonies. Greet the membership at Chamber events. Contact
the membership to improve retention.
Assist in acquiring new members.
ANNUAL BANQUET & AUCTION
Coordinate plans for the annual meeting of the Chamber membership
ANNUAL PLANNING RETREAT
Conduct an annual planning retreat to determine priorities for
the membership in 2006.

Co-host monthly business networking opportunities at a member
location through Business After Hours events.
MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN
Sponsor an annual membership campaign, raising the visibility
of the Chamber and increasing membership.
NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION
Provide regular orientation for new members featuring a reception
program with discussion
of the Chamber mission, goals, objectives, and participation
opportunities.
NEWSLETTER
Design and write the monthly the newsletter, “Muskogee
Chamber Connection” for distribution
within the Muskogee Daily Phoenix, with space for members to
purchase ads.

Further improve the Chamber’s website and continue to

LEADERSHIP MUSKOGEE
Sponsor Leadership Muskogee, a program designed to develop participant
awareness of the Muskogee community
with the purpose of broadening the volunteer base. The Leadership
Muskogee Class offers eight monthly sessions.
YOUTH LEADERSHIP MUSKOGEE
Coordinate Youth Leadership Muskogee by fostering development
of the leadership skills necessary for success in the workplace
and by introducing area students to the world of business. The
Youth Leadership Muskogee Class offers four monthly sessions.
LEADERS INSPIRING LEADERS
Provide a forum for Leadership Muskogee Alumni to gather, nework,
and support the future of the program.
GOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS
To provide opportunities for members to become informed
on legislative issues and proactively support Muskogee
and the business community with the appropriate governmental
entities |
PAUL REVERE LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS
Sponsor local public forums and town hall meetings and serve
as the catalyst for proactive community partnerships
on matters affecting public policy. Monitor state and federal
legislative activities on behalf of small business.
MAYOR’S STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS
Coordinate the annual luncheon held in September, featuring
the “State of the City Address” from Muskogee’s
Mayor.

VOLUNTEERISM
To encourage individuals to participate in volunteer activities
that will inject new, relative energy into the community. |
VOLUNTEERS IN EDUCATION
A vital new program that will assist Muskogee Public Schools’
Mentoring Program by
encouraging businesses and individuals to make a difference
in the life of a student.
Realize the power of an hour as a mentor investing in the future
of Muskogee.
OKIE FROM MUSKOGEE
Present programs to develop a new sense of pride and spirit
in the City of Muskogee. This Committee will award a monthly
Okie from Muskogee Customer Service Award, manage the Okie from
Muskogee product line, and coordinate other activities throughout
the year to promote Muskogee through the business community.
CHAMBER CELEBRITY GOLF CLASSIC
Coordinate a golf outing for the Muskogee business community
to further encourage networking
and the development of long lasting positive relationships.
VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION
Co-sponsor with the Muskogee Phoenix the “Five Who Care”
project every other year to identify
and recognize community volunteers.
HOST COMMITTEE
Assist in the recruitment efforts of Muskogee Development by
maintaining a host team
to assist new Muskogee residents whose companies have relocated
to this area.

Develop a marketing campaign to create an awareness of the value
of Chamber membership

Maintain communication between the leadership of Chamber, the
City of Muskogee,
Muskogee Convention & Tourism, and Muskogee Development.
SHOP MUSKOGEE
Continue dialogue with the City to enhance the promotional campaign
to market Muskogee to outlying areas.
